Anyone know if there are any shuttle services that operate between Wingdale NY (1437.6) and Wawayanda State Park area (1352.1)? Looking to possibly do this section in May and trying to decide if we need to take two cars. Thanks for any imput.

It's a two hour, 80 mile drive one way. I don't know of anyone who frequently shuttles in that area. BTW, a small point, but why Wingdale, as opposed to the AT train station down the road a couple of miles?

The other guy is planning the trip. If there was no shuttle service in the area we were going to park one car at Dutchess Motor Lodge in Wingdale, spend the night, and drive the other car to Wayayanda State Park to begin our hike.

The ATC Trail Shuttle lists a Ron Myer out of Vernon, NJ who covers NJ and "just about anywhere a hiker wants to go." See page 9 of the Shuttle List (http://www.appalachiantrail.org/atf/cf/{B8A229E6-1CDC-41B7-A615-2D5911950E45}/AT%20Shuttle%20List%20WEB%2010-15-09.pdf).

How about taking the train into the city , walking across town from Grand Central to the Port Authority, and catching a bus to Greenwood Lake NY. This shortens your trip a day, allowing a side trip or two around Harriman SP.

Have fun either way.
