I would think only long distance hikers could answer this question. The question is. I am going to be on the trail for 3 months starting at Springer April 8 I will be using a Marmot helium 15* is that to much or do I need to have someone mail me a 40* bag. I am planning on being on the trail for 3 months or Harpers Ferry :-?

Unless you sleep on top or drape the bag over you you might feel a bit too warm in late May, June, and July. If you have the 1/2 zip older version you will have less venting options to add to that Warm situation.

You'll need the 40 degree later on. Take the other to begin.

Keep the warmer bag until you get past the Mt. Rogers/Grayson Highlands area. The 5000-foot altitude through there can keep the temps quite cold, even into May. After that, the 40 degree bag will likely work fine for you.
