so i have managed to destroy my tendon hiking in florida and im not sure if my 2010 hike is going to happen.

Sorry to hear that. What do the doctors say? Surgery or just rest?

The trail will still be there when you're ready for it.
In the meantime, get better and do some section hikes to fine tune your gear. Unless you already got a leave of absence from a job you intend to return to, there's no urgency. You'll be a year older and wiser. :)
