all the time. just make sure you use the peppermint. it doesn't take much more than a tiny drop.

I brought Dr. Bronners to wash myself and tooth paste to brush my teeth. That was two ounces that I was not willing to cut out.

Try it and you may decide to carry a little travel tube of toothpaste because castille soap in the mouth is pretty soapy and it has no fluoride.

If you use the recommended pea-sized dab of toothpaste, one of those little tubes will last for weeks.

I picked up one of the travel toothbrushes, It is half the usual length of a regular toothbrush and it came with a tiny tube of toothpaste in the storage case.
Picked it up at Rite-Aid.

Looks like this one but the tube of paste is smaller than the one in this kit, It is inside of the plastic toothbrush case. It is about the size of a bic pen cap.

I will be carrying the Bronners peppermint soap as well in the 4 oz. bottle.
I like to be as clean as possible.

If someone walks up on you while brushing your teeth with Dr. B's, quickly hold up your toothbrush. That will show them that you are just brushing your teeth and aren't rabid.

It leaves your breath minty and teeth squeaky clean. Still tastes like soap though.

Whatever you do, DON'T read the label.
You'll go TOTALLY INSANE!!!!!!!
Though I did it once and it obviously had no effect. :D

4 oz. is at least twice what you need to carry. 1 oz. is probably enough, it's very concentrated. You can refill from hiker boxes as needed.

All One!!! Dilute! Dilute! Okay!!!

just try it yourself at home and see if you can tolerate it.

I've tried both almond and peppermint and can't stand either as a toothpaste substitute. I carry regular toothpast, but then again, I'm not a gram weenie.

"Lot of people use Bronnners as toothpaste.

I agree with this sentiment.

If you want to save weight to the point of changing what you brush with, consider tooth powder --- I use this on the trail. A very small and light container of this stuff lasts a long time. Some folks just use baking soda, I think others use baking soda + salt (?). I use this commercial product (http://www.amazon.com/Eco-Dent-Baking-Powder-Toothpowder-Original/dp/B000OLE96G/ref=pd_sbs_hpc_9) that I found at my local drug store.

One benefit this has over little tubes of toothpaste is that the little toothpaste tubes don't last all that long on a long-distance hike, whereas a smaller volume of toothpowder will suffice for months.
