I stumbled across a web site dedicated to the history of the Dolly Copp campground that some might find of interest.

Weary might find it of interest anyway.

I think I spotted him and his family in one of the photos of campers from the 1930's. Well, maybe not Weary. He probably left the campground to climb Imp before the photographers came about.

In any case, it was an interesting read, and fun to think of who might have been in some of those photos and where they ended up. One story was of a couple who met at the CG and then returned with friends and family years later to cerebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.

Just noticed this on the site. The date of this event was 1957.

Mrs. Cummings did her usual wonderful job with the younger set, while the teenagers were competing in their events in the Ball Field. The morning program was brought to a close with the running of the annual Marathon.

Many thanks for the reference, Rick. The Mrs. Cummings that is mentioned is my mother.

Probably 12 years before the photo was taken I ran in the annual marathon -- and finished next to last.

No. But I keep working on avoiding for a while at least the ultimate finish.

Nice place, not far from where I live.
Checked it out last summer.
