hey guys ( and gals of course). I just built my blog / journal for my GAME hike starting in about ten days. I was wondering if many of you have done the same or do most of you just use TJ and the like. I like the idea of being able to upload my photos in original sizes and i didn't think that TJ or even WB would like to host that many files of mine.
I'd also like to ask what do you think of the blog and also any ideas of more links that families and friends may like to be able to use to access more info about the AT.
Tanks for taking the time to read this, please check out my site: http://www.wideload2010.com .

I am using Trail Journals mostly because I have been reading them for 6 or 6 years and I am comfortable with the. Postholer.com is a strong alternative, though. For photos, TJ will be enough for the few needed to document the trip, but I will use a regular photo site to host the 100's of pics and videos I plan to take.

I am on T.J. as well.
Your site looks pretty cool.

I have a website, but I will link the journal section up to postholer and will post photos on the website so I have the best of both worlds. It's just easier to use a blog host as I don't want to be fiddling around on a computer. The good thing about trailjournals/postholer is that family members can get a clearer idea about the AT by reading previous entries.

Your site could do with a little 'lightening' up IMHO (as you asked).

I am using Blogspot as I can update it by just sending an e-mail to a particular address (along with attached photos). Google maps will automatically update with my location using Google Latitude.

I set up a TrailJournal but dunno how often I will update it.

For pictures that aren't attached to blog entries, I'll be using PhotoBucket or my website (http://www.pastinfinity.com) but those entries will be very infrequent and probably done after the trip.
