Is it contagious? - remember the best solution our government came up with is :

Wash your hands.

Happy Birthday!

I have Springer fever. I pretty much always have Springer fever. Fortunately I have been able to help the situation a bit. Recently I have been spending about 3 days a week in the woods. Now if I only had the money to spend the other 4 days there.

The fact that I'm heading up the Approach Trail March 9th, and that I'm horribly bored at work with only 9 working days left, and never mind the cold and snow we've had I'D RATHER BE OUT THERE!

I don't understand why all the questions my friends keep asking, like "Where are you going to use the bathroom" and "Are you still going to go with all of this snow" and "What are you going to eat" etc... just makes me laugh and want to be out there even more.

I'm even tempted to wear my hiking clothes to work - several days in a row without bathing to give them a "taste" of trail life. :-?

Is this Springer Fever? I haven't visited Springer Mt. yet, how could I have caught it's fever? I've heard of airborne pathogens before, but Internet Forms spread ones are scary!

The fever has spread west to New Mexico. Symptoms include:

Checking weather forecasts hourly, hoping that it warms up a bit.
Obsessive packing and repacking your pack.
Inability to concentrate on work.
Explaining to someone about your mail drops, again.
Checking Trail Journals to see about weather, hourly
Reading the same stuff on Whiteblaze

My doctor says that I am terminal, but that he has heard that recent research indicates that there may be a cure somewhere in the eastern mountains. My health insurance should pay for my trip.

I will start looking for the cure Sunday on Springer. When found I hope to get a patent.

Cool AT Breeze, I know that everyone keeps asking, but how are the trail conditions in Georgia now?

Oh yes....
Here's a question: People are excited for me when I tell them I'm going, but then there's that inevitable question, "Are you going ALONE?". Even after I remind them I live alone, walk my dog at night alone, take vacations alone, etc. Some people..... ~K2~

I went SOBO last year. It took 2178 miles to treat my Springer fever. Having done so, I discovered that there is no cure.
