i'm thinking about packin in some on a reg basis to some of the shelters in MA this year during thru hiker season... might catch me out there..

You would be wrong about NC. Beer is obtainable, legally, in Franklin, Wesser (NOC), and Hot Springs. Yay!

My son and I are looking for a 2 or 3 day escape next week, and have been informed that the higher altitude hikes in the Mt. Rogers area are "snowed in", and one outfitter asked if we had snowshoes. Any information on the snow situation up there?
