I was wondering if there were any blogs out on the interwebs that were kept by female thru-hikers? I've been reading alot of blogs written by guys and it would be nice to have a lady's perspective on things.

I'm attempting a thru-hike in mid April :D

Lots of women on www.trailjournals.com, but I don't know of any "blogs", just journals...

I keep a blog and have a journal from '07. Check the links on the left.

The two best blogs by women I found were by either "Lady Cluck" in 2008, or "Shimmy" in 2009. Plus, Shimmy has over 4000 photos on hers, which is unbelievable.

My friend Anna, Not a thru-hiker (yet?) writes a ton of stuff on her hikes and local exploits.

They're very well written articles with tons of pictures. Somewhere on this page (http://annagouznova.wordpress.com/page/5/) she wrote about a VT Long Trail Trip

I read Blissful's trail journal, and Jan Liteshoe's was awesome, it's really long and addictive, so I hope you have time before you leave. Also, I have one from this past season if you search Pickle. Mine's pretty long too. There are a lot of women's hiking books too if you search Amazon.

I second Blissful and Jan Liteshoe...also check out on Trail Journals: (in no particular order) persistent, certain, gangsta, brownie, Chardonnay & Cabernet, and Wags. I'm sure there are more but these are just the ones from the top of my head!

Enjoy the reading and good luck on your thru! :)

check out our blog! ridgelines.wordpress.com we will be starting saturday on our northbound thru hike and documenting it all!! we also hope to raise money for a charity organization that is building a sustainable orphanage in kenya. the main focus of the website is to document thru hiker culture, and if we raise money for a good cause, more reason to keep hiking!
