Has anyone ever come across an artist painting on the trail. Or knows of an artist who specialises in AT themes?

Contact Matthewski. I don't know how many A.T paintings he has done, but he is an artist and a hiker.

I paint during my hikes, mostly landscapes but not strictly AT themes.

Bluebird from '06 and '07 has some nice paintings of scenery.
