Trip Advice

I have a three day trip planned for next Friday-Sunday but I'd like some advice/recommendations on the location.

Right now I'm kicking around two possibilities (both sections I haven't done):

1. Unicoi Gap (GA) to Deep Gap (NC) and then take the Kimsey Creek Trail to my car at Standing Indian.

2. NOC to Fontana

I've also sort of thought about Sam's Gap (at I-26) into Erwin as well but I kind of like to hike with the thruhikers in the spring and I doubt many will be that far North.

Any suggestions are most welcome.

If you want thru hikers, 1 or 2 sounds logical. But be warned, NOC to Fontana is a tough hike. One of the worser times for me in the south.
