Looking to lighten the load starting with my bag, a Marmot trestles 15.

Considering the Deuter Dream Lite 500
http://www.deuterusa.com/products/productDetail.php?packID=dreamlite&sub=bags

and the Marmot Pounder

anyone use either of these bags? Know a friend's cousin's neighbor's sister's boss that does?

thanks'

im not familiar with these two bags particularly BUT i did try a few marmots out at REI and ended up purchasing the sawtooth. i love it, the shell is very water resistant, the interior is very very soft, and i like the hood setup. it just seals perfectly for me anyway.
ymmv

I have the Marmot Trestles 15 now. I got warm at 40* recently. I want to lighten the load and lessen the heat....

so, what are you looking for, a lighter replacement for the 15° or something in the 40° range?

a lighter, less toasty bag. I think the 15 will be too hot for me later this summer. So hopefully by going to a warmer rated bag I can also go lighter. You know, the whole ''two birds, one bag'' thing. :)

btw Mr K, Jack Handy rocks!

i use the marmot 40 degree bag, I love it, but it is a 40 degree bag. At 1 lb. I would use it down to 35 degree. It gets much colder than that now in the mountains.

Does it really pound marmots? How hard?

They're marmots, they don't need that hard of a poundin'.

Still considering the Pounder, mainly to lighten the load from the Trestles 15. I know the Pounder will be plenty warm down here in Florida for the Spring , but, wondering for the Carvers Gap> dennis Cove sections in mid-June.

I would like to stay with synthetics. Any other recommendations greatly appreciated.

Slumberjack super guide 30 deg. 2 lb. synthetic. I use it 3 season, from Maine to the Smokies and will go with it next week to the desert at 3500 ft. expecting 50 deg. nights. In a tent and in a hammock, works for me, wearing top/bottom thermals and hat if needed and socks on feet if needed, all at the bottom of 30 deg. I have tested it in a solo ALPS tent, this spring, at 27 deg. w/all aforementioned clothing on. Of course closed cell pad under bag.

By the statement..."all at the bottom of 30 deg. bag"...meaning the temp. of bag rated at 30 deg. and me dressed for the colder temps that I was testing it at, which went down to 25 deg.,/ NOT all the clothing stuffed at bottom of bag and NOT me in'em.
