"it is that time of year again. the leaves are going to start changing soon. the nights will begin to get cooler. the days will become shorter. the thru-hikers will finish up their thru-hikes.
and, i’ll hit the trail.
october.
i can’t think of a better time to start hiking. to be out in the woods, breathing in the crisp mountain air. putting the miles under my feet and the mountains behind me. soaking up the views and gazing in wonder at the patchwork quilt that is the peak of autumn colors."
that's right, folks, in a little less than 24 hours i'll be heading to maine to begin my great fall/winter adventure of 2004. i'll be climbing katahdin on friday, october 8th, and start walking south from there. maybe i'll see some of you out there. feel free to follow the adventure here (http://www.trailjournals.com/grizzlyadam04). keep me in your thoughts and prayers. have a great day.
