Some good information here on hole size and quantity and how they effect the burn rate.

Read all the test, my question is : hole size? most bit sets start off with the smallest 1/16 size. How big is this compared to the .o45 I never was good at math :(

I have found that the best size hole is about as big as a push pin.

Woodenarrows did a nice little YouTube video comparing two sideburner stoves and the relation of jet placement. Watch it here. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iznwkGdlwnI)

Probably won't withstand the rigors of peer review by some on WB but still it's a nice little burn test with great commentary.

Happy stove building!

Actually, you probably can. You can buy this set (http://www.amazon.com/Dremel-628D-7-Piece-Drill-Bit/dp/B0000302Z3) there. The smallest bit it contains is 1/32.

The only way to get all the sizes mentioned in the reference is to use the numbered drill sizes I mentioned. I'm still pretty sure that you won't find them at Walmart.

Those of you that have read the information gathered by Daren, what are your conclusions about hole size and placement?

12 holes seems to be the ticket and the .046 looks good to me, but what do i know...lol

Pass the information off to a new stove maker:)
