It was probably the most unique trail register on the AT. But Trailangel Mary's Hikermobile is no more. Video of the last rites

Nice video and she sure sounds like a nice person. I hope she gets a new ride and is able to get back to what she enjoys

Good report! Hope the parts do end up in the museum. I live so close and never met her. Now it is a must to meet her.

I can see how this would be like a bitter sweet symphony.. Both sad to see something that has helped hikers go but great to know the legend lives on..

I better get out there and hike before all the trail angels are gone...

That was AWESOME! 7min of full video. That tells you how far up you rank Mary. The president speaks and he may get 5 min if he's lucks the hikermobile gets dismantled and a full 7 min.

I am so glad that it worked out I guess my only regret is I never rode in in or signed it. Not sure when I will make it down that way next but I'll give you a shout. I am so glad that it worked out with the fire Dept. Was that Hooptime that did the video?

may the spirits of the mtns and forests bless trail angel mary, she is such a wonderful warm hearted person. the assistance she provided me and chickety when we were in duncanon in 2005 is un-measurable, we will always be very very grateful for that.:welcome

I asked her that. She said not until it gets as raggedy as the Hikermobile was when she started having hikers sign it

I upgraded from an '84 Dodge Diplomat to a '94 Buick Park Avenue.

I'd like to keep the new car looking like a "business" car, i.e. for my Avon business but I've been known to change my mind on an occasion or two! LOL

I just came back from the AT Museum (http://www.atmuseum.org/) Meeting at the Ironmaster's Mansion Hostel and Larry Luxemburg says that yes they want all three parts. I am to deliver them there and put them in the basement. Need someone with a truck and the time to help me accomplish that.
Although they will not be part of the Museum for the grand opening June 5, the parts will be eventually.

Great to hear that. Larry had told me for a print story (which has not run in the paper yet -- it's what they call an "evergreen", not breaking urgent news so it can be held for a day when they have more space) that they would want at least one of the three.
