Alright way to get out there and do the hike thing. I will try not to talk at all about taxes, current government programs that are doomed to failure, gay marriage, drugs on the trail, unmarried sex, Dogs off leash, Hand guns in national parks, The Doyle, or Minnesota Smith, so have a good hike and know none of us will let things get too out of hand

I present you, At Troll, with your own laughing buddha.
In particular, this one is called the Traveling Buddha.

If you print and clip it, you can call it "Flat Buddha."

May Flat Buddha guide and amuse you during your thru-hike.

Ran into Troll and Hopper on the trail near Gooch Mtn today while out walking with the dogs. Walked back with him to Grassy Gap and invited him in for lunch. After lunch he was heading over to Woody Gap and then on to the hiker hostel for the night. Happy trails Troll.

Hope those new boots work for him. The first week or so is always critical.

With all this wacky weather I am sure sooner or later he will be wanting to get a reading from the Goreacle l to see if that thin at some have been talking about might be messing with the weather for his hike.

What happened to AT Troll's journal??

Someone was leaving exceedingly nasty messages on the guest book, so he took it down and stopped updating the journal for a bit. But he's back to updating it now.

Speaking from experience, it's impossible to administer a large web site without making some very high (or low, depending on how you look at it) enemies. If they attack him here, something can be done about it. If elsewhere, there's not much. I know...

Unfortunately the internet offers a degree of anonymity for punks and cowards to hide behind. My guess is that the vast majority of offenders who write mindless drivel from the obscurity of their computers would not say the same in person.

Hike on AT Troll. Don't worry about cyber trash. Enjoy your hike. Happy to see you are posting in TJ again.

According to his trail journal, Troll has jumped off at Harpers and is heading south to pick up missed sections.
Seems like the way to do it would be to continue north, then finish the Virginia sections later when the weather is cooler, stead of hiking them in the scalding heat of July.

I got stopped by the heat in June in Virginia once and it wasn't pretty.
