Hello All,

I have it planned that i want to try and hike as uch of massachusetts as possible from saturday april 10th to sunday april 18th...

i think i have all of my gear dialed in... i dont hike fast so i'm make sure that i have plenty of time as i like to lolligag and take a pictures and i generally dont hike fast.

I've never done anything more than an overnight so this will definitely be my longest undertaking.

i guess i'm not sure hwat i'm looking for from you all except for encouragement or suggestions for planning. i haven't yet figured outmy resupply points or whatever but any help that you guys can give me would be awesome.

oh and of course, if anyone wants to come along for a walk thats cool too.

thanks in advance,
trailnameless me...

Use a data book from the ATC for supply points. Myself, I'm leaving tomorrow morning to hike for nine days without resupply. from Greenwood lake, NY to Kent, Conn. Like you, anyone who wants to join is welcome. Hardest part for me is starting out alone. Hope I don't smell too bad after that long.

The ALDHA Companion has info. on resupply points and detailed mileage charts. Here's the direct link to the section covering Massachusetts (http://www.aldha.org/companyn/ct-me10.pdf).

I hiked the Southern half of MA in April (http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?id=94197)and lucked out with beautiful weather. Hope it works well for you. Enjoy the ponds (Upper Goose, Buell, Benedict), Race Mountain, and Sages Ravine. And of course: Graylock.

I have done most of my prep hiking in MA, I would plan to have your journey hit Mt. Greylock at the very least. I think MA is about 90 miles so if you have 8 days to do it and avg ~11 miles a day you could cross the state. Goodluck
