I'm going to be hiking NOBO from Route 44, Salisbury, CT up into Berkshire Co. on or about 24 March. Planning to take it pretty easy (not my usual blistering pace:D). Would be great if anybody's going to same location from NYC or from Wassaic, NY Metro North or from Canaan, CT (Peter Pan bus stop).
I ended my section hike up there last summer. I'll be going out in June hiking north for about a month. Catch the Harlem train from NYC, you can get off off at the last stop and catch a shuttle over to Salisbury. Salisbury has a couple of hostels and the nation's oldest public library and one of the best coffee shops along the trail. A great trail town. I'm looking forward to the Berkshires and beyond.
