I have very limited info regarding the PCT. I was told this trail head starts at the Southern most point of South America and travels North to the upper latitudes of Northern Canada. Can this be true? If so, when do you start and can you thru hike the entire thing non-stop? This is driving me crazy...please help this ol' West Virginia HillBilly with any info.

Not quite so much as that. It starts on the US - Mexican border close to Campo, CA and ends at the US - Canadian border close to Manning Provincial Park, BC.

In 2008 the mileage was 2,652. Longer than the AT, but most people I know who have done both did the PCT faster.

This may be a good starting place...

I think what the OP is referring to is the Continental Divide.
I have met a few travellers in my experiences that have either bicycled or motorcycled this whole thing.
It can be done although there is a big swamp that is a huge problem in Panama. (I forget the name now)
I had intentions of giving it a try but then talked to a guy who was robbed 3 times in Columbia and shot and left for dead once.
So, i decided to attempt to travel around the world without flying instead. (and stayed away from Columbia)

Anyway, I think some people have walked the whole thing although I have never met any of them.
It would be an awesome endeavor and I would be tempted if I didn't have a 4 year old son.

Good luck in your quest.
Let us know how it goes if you undertake it.

Sorry, i left a line out above.
It should read the Continental Divide from Chile's southern tip to Alaska.
Here is one group that did it by bicycle in 3 years time: http://www.ridingthespine.com/main.html
