Another article talked about him giving food to AT hikers, thought someone might know him. Services are this weekend.

Wow! Burned to death (and not instantly). Not a good way to go. I hope it was an accidentally set fire.
Strangely, I'm headed down to the DWG area next week.
Too bad I won't get to meet him (not in this life, at least :().

Very sad! I was just there last Friday, hiking Mt. Minsi on a beautiful day. I was going to stop in at the diner on my way home, but was in a rush. What a shame.
