I own a Hennessey Hammock and unfortunately admit I havent used it much yet. I certinaly won't be taking it on the PCT, but I wonder how feasible using just the tarp would be as a primary shelter, say on the PCT? I would combine this with bug netting, most likely by the Sierrras. Sounds like many folks sleep out right under the starts most nights (sounds very appealing) but would this tarp hold up under the occasional rain storm?
Anyone use this as just a tarp? Was it big enough? Easy to set up? Thanks. I admit I don't know the first thing about setting up tarps. I used a tent on the AT and would like to avoid purchasing a 200 dollar tarp tent if I can.
