View Full Version : Repairing a tent
I set up my Lunar Solo today and noticed a tear on the back stake out point. Any ideas how I might fix this?
Thumbnail is kinda fuzzy but you can make out the problem.
I'd keep it simple and suggest McNett Tenacious Tape (http://www.amazon.com/McNett-Tenacious-Tape/dp/B0020MG9D8/ref=pd_sbs_sg_2). It should provide really good results with minimal effort or cost.

....except that the Lunar Solo is silnylon and Tenacious Tape uses urethane adhesive. I don't know how well it would bond to the silicone fabric.
McNett makes a silnylon repair called SilFix (http://www.mcnett.com/SilFix-Sil-Nylon-Repair-Kit-P141.aspx). I have no experience with it, so I can't make a recommendation.
I think you could patch the rip with some seam sealant and a small scrap of silnylon.

Looks like you are right (http://answers.mec.ca/answers/9421-en_ca/product/5008-815/questions.htm).
McNett Tenacious Tape does stick to silnylon but not very well. I would not recommend using this product to repair silnylon.

That doesn't happen often. Please let my wife know. ;)

Thanks, I'll check it out.
The Sil Fix is the correct kit.
If you happen to have some silicone sealant and a small patch of silnylon, that is all you need.
Keep in mind that a round patch is better than one with corners.
