Anyone own one of these bags? I just found one barely used for $75.00.

Do you like it? Could silk liner extend range down to 35 degrees?

I like the weight of this bag alot, and like the idea of a bag that stretches with me at night as I toss and turn alot.

I've got the #7 (55*) and with a silk liner I'd take it to 35* - a #5 would do it, no problem.

Thanks. I'm gonna drive over and buy it. My friend bought it last summer, used it two night and had a heart attack. He called and is trying to sell whatever stuff he can't use anymore. Sad he can't hike anymore, but now he shuttle drives for us and we all toss him cash and hotels for doing so.

I've got a #5 Spiral 850 fill I've taken down to 30 and been comfortable in with Cap 3 tops and bottoms. Liner should take you down to 20s no problem.

Yup,

MB #5 800 ultralight down bag.

First night out, 40dF in the open, no tent, no tarp, no bivy, Me in underwear and a tee shirt only, IE no long johns, heavy dew in the morning.

Stayed warm all night. Only thing I can say about the #5 is it does not have a zipper baffle. The #3 does and thats better yet, then again the #2 has a neck baffle.

MB bags are honestly rated.

Is this a synthetic bag ?? or down. If down snag it PDQ.
The synthetic bags are a bit heavy.

That's a really good price for the bag. It's too bad your friend is unable to hike anymore :(
