I'm going to be hiking starting May 1 on the WV/MD border up to Bear Mountain Bridge, NY. What kind of weather can I expect?

Warm to blistering hot if the current trend continues.
Oh, and it might rain from time to time.
yeah, rain is bound to happen...that's a given. I just don't trust the weather reports that you get online because they're never for up on the mountain.

Well, it will be summer and thats about all one can say. We've already had record breaking temps here in northern NH this last week, so it could be a hot one at that.
Your best bet is to plan on getting up with the sun, or before, and doing as many miles as possible before noon. After that, the going gets really slow. I did PA a few years ago during the month of May and it was blasted hot and humid most of the time.
