I was wondering if anybody knew how the trails were in the 100 mile wilderness in mid-june. I was going to hike it in Sept. but I can't now, the only time I'll have time to do it is in June. Any advise?
Be prepared for a ton of black flies and mosquitoes. I hiked it in June, 2007 and would never go back during the bug season. One of my favorites hikes tho, and I look forward to getting back up there again.

Epic, prodigious amount of rain last year. Lots of mud. The upside ... few black flies. Didn't hold back the mosquitoes though. Ben's 100 is your friend.

I'll be right there with ya....
muddy and buggy, welcome to Northern New England!
As long as you have a tent or other bug-free sleeping method, you'll be fine. Can be beautiful weather in June.

June '07 was beautiful warm sunny
June/July '09 epic rain, flooding streams (rivers)
The bug situation is waaaaay overplayed. . . 100% DEET does the job just fine. . .

Thanks for all the tips. I hope it doesn't rain too much this spring.
