Has Rusty passed away?

I've heard rumors from hikers on the trail that Rusty has died.
Does anyone here know if this is true? :(

I hope he is still with us! I had a great time at the Hollow last year. I was planning on stopping there to visit Rusty and Pirate, and do some trail magic after Traildays. Too bad the place closed (again).

pirate is here in damascus til after trail days. he says rusty's is too weird
