My ILs and I were thinking of going to Standing Indian for some car camping, but saw on recreation.gov that it "under renovation". How bad is it? Still worth the noise, dust, etc?

When we were there in March the campground was closed completely. The construction crew were working all over.

it's closed, as in closed. if you're car camping just drive up towards Deep Gap. there are several spots to pull off and set up camp.

The campground doesn't open until 4/1 normally. According to a search, they will open on 5/1 this year.

walked through there the other week coming down off the kimsey. it was closed closed and confusing as hell to navigate. they've turned it all around. but the new bathhouses looked very enticing.

Oh yeah I forgot it hadn't opened this year yet. I was looking for later in the summer or fall.
