I see using the AT interactive map there is a small parking lot just south of Duncannon. Using that "lot" for directions does anyone know if it is easy, or how to locate the trail if I am getting dropped off there for a North hike?

If you are going North from Duncannon, it prob easiest to get dropped off on the other side of the Susqahenna (there's a parking lot there). Or you can start at the Doyle.

Are you parking or being dropped off?

Is it easy to see/pick up the trail right there. It looks like an easy drop off spot.

I just saw the user pic of the wooden AT sign that looks like it will be a great spot thank you. Do you know much about the terrain right there? Are we going straight into the PA rocks or will we be easing into it? Thanks again for the help.

Yep, the trail is directly across the highway and go left, you can see the cut of the trail on the satelite photo.

Get dropped off at the Doyle, have a big beer then follow the white blazes right on out of town. Enjoy.

Going North from there isn't too bad. The trail up to the top of Peter's Mtn isn't too rocky. Once you hit the top and it follows the ridge line and becomes rockier. Nothing bad though. You are young and from NEPA so you'll be fine.
