Is there a map that shows all of the long distance hiking trails in the US in a single view, ideally pdf? I'd say anything over a few hundred miles would qualify.

The author, Erik Schlimmer, digs deeper than the National with a capital N designated footpaths.
This NPS map (http://www.nps.gov/hfc/carto/nps-trails.htm) shows the National (with a capital N) Trails, not all of which are necessarily hikable.

That must be an awesome book. It's going for $518 on Amazon.

I though it must have been a typo but then I saw some places are selling it for $600. :eek::confused:

Someone needs to start a website with a map with all known footpaths on it.
