Hey hikers. I'm going to be hiking nobo starting around early/mid June from Harpers Ferry to Maine. I'm starting to get things together for my trip and I couldn't be happier. I'm 30, from Chicago.. Any other punks or metal heads on the trail this year? Can't $!@# wait to be out there.

Nope, that was last year. 2010 is old hippy / hard rocker year. Sorry.

Music was one of the things I missed when I hiked in 05. I couldn't justify carrying a player. This year I might get one of those tiny ones and put some educational stuff on it, and a few essential metal albums. I'm going to use time on the trail to improve my Spanish =)

I've been looking at something similar. The cheapest option appears to be the Coby mp3 player. On amazon you can find a 2 GB with fm radio for about $20. 4 GB for less than $30. Uses one AAA battery so no need to carry a charger.

I think I may get one of those. 2g seems fine. 4g seems too heavy!
