is the front of the wave in the SNP now? just wondering if i'll run into a lot of thru hikers there this weekend. i always welcome the entertainment!

Thru hikers Sweet Potatoes, Tin Man, and Half Pint should be cruising through the central section as we speak.
I met them all last Wednesday at Punchbowl Shelter about 50 miles from Shenandoah Natl. Park.
They are the front wave of thru hikers that started in February.

Keep 'em occupied until I'm well in front of them in NY.. :)
spectacular! it will be fun to meet the survivors of the tough(est) winter.

They had some wild stories to tell , entertained everyone at the campfire .
Hiking through 3 feet of snow and losing the trail due to wind blown snow covering the blazes on trees.

did they tell you that #@@#$%@ story? They must have been pulling your leg... it doesn't really snow down south, does it?

No, many are just getting there in the first week of June.
