I'm starting around may 20th in Harpers Ferry and heading north until mid July. What would yall suggest for clothing? Short sleeves or long?

I think most would say short sleeves and pants, but I wore long sleeves and long trousers. I don't like to use chemicals on my skin, so I left the sunscreen and DEET at home and relied on covering up. I never got sunburn, or a single tick, and only got a few mosquito bites on the hands, ankles, and face. I passed through Harpers Ferry around May 20th, too. Have a great hike.

I would hike in shorts and a short sleeved shirt, quarter-height light wool socks, trail runners, and a nylon ball cap.
In my pack I would have a light weight long sleeved shirt, a second pair of shorts, my homemade wind pants, a rain shell, and a very light fleece hat. Depending on the projected temps at the start, I might bring my Montbell down vest and my ultralight wind shirt.
