View Full Version : Child or dog GPS tracker? (besides SPOT)

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone had some clever recommendations for people to track my thru hike coming up. I was toying with the idea of the SPOT, but I feel like there is a better alternative out there that is more reliable and cheaper!

I thought there were things that parents could use to find a lost child or dog or whatever, and was thinking that would be LIGHT and could track me whenever they wanted versus me "checking in".

Any ideas?

Don't those things have limited range? I might be wrong as I have neither a child or dog to worry about losing.

On the other end of the spectrum - NSA spy satellite and drone plane or black helliochoper?

Well I too do not have a child or dog, but would assume the range would be good being GPS?

"Sorry ma'am we can't find your child, he is out of range" lol? :)
