The next time somebody asks a question that they were too lazy to look up for themselves you can respond with the following:

http://www.lfgtfy.com/?q=(search string)

For example: If someone asks what the weather is like in Damascus you can type:

http://www.lfgtfy.com/q=damascus+virginia+weather

It didn't start out that way but watching a trainwreck after a meltdown is pretty good theater. . . :D

Remember kids, when you link to lmgtfy.com you need replace the address with a word so it is not so obvious beforehand where they are going. Of course if they deserve a lmgtfy link they probably wouldn't have any clue anyway.

I really will google it myself but does anyone know which is the best to get the closest weather for Springer to Neels Gap. Using weather.com would using Amicalola Falls State Park, GA and/or Blairsville, GA give me fairly accurate weather.

Fred, can you tell me what the weather's like in Franklin? I really don't care about Damascus.

I use suches, ga. on weather.com (woody gap) .

Also, if you go to suches.com they have accuweather forecast on the bottom of the home page.

I use both since its so easy to do.

At an elevation of 3,000 feet Suches is one of highest cities in Georgia. Just deduct 5 degrees from the forecast if its really that important to you.

Sort of like "trail magic" it comes around just when you least expect it.

not important to ME??, but new hikers might like to know to subtract 5 degree for every 1000' elevation from the town they got their weather report. not a big deal, but up the trail, it's a nice to know. in winter it makes a difference.

I don't think Ladytrekker is going to need to worry too much about winter conditions on her hike in Georgia later this month.

So is this the idea behind the "missing link"??

What a fun thread..

Oh by the way, you can google Blood Mountain weather and get the forecast fore Blood Mountain..Just For Your Information..

Now for a missing link...
