There are some old APRS threads that really didn't amount to much and maybe that should answer my question but what the heck? Here goes nothing...
I'm hiking from Dicks Creek to Tellico Gap and was wondering if anyone has tried sending APRS packets along this route from the ridgelines. It doesn't look like are are many stations in the vicinity but thought maybe the height might work in my favor.
This is really a novelty thing. I think it would be neat to look back and see a track via amateur radio. But I don't want to carry the gear if there aren't any digipeaters to pick me up.
