North Face was fined US$207,500 for making unsubstantiated claims concerning their footwear's ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria and odours.
The US Environment Protection Agency fined the company when it was revealed that Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act was breached by the company when it made claims for their footwear that were unverified.
No word as of yet as to whether the company will be additionally fined for poseur violations as well :cool:
