Title says it all. Looks pretty easy in the Thru-Hiker's Handbook, but is it in reality? Anything hairy at all?

Not too bad.. easier going north than south. Going south out of Dennis Cove is a nice climb whereas the climb out of 19E is a bit easier.

I did that section last year with my youngest daughter (then 21) and I'd say it was pretty easy. Of course, "easy" depends on you, the weather, how many miles/days you have to do it in, and so forth. Hiking 15 miles a day is always hard work, no matter. We hiked less than that and I don't recall any particularly bad climbs.

Easy, easy, easy. Yes, you have a short climb out of 19E, but it's a nice meandering walk after that through meadows, mountain laurel and rhododendron.

Easy compared to other terrain out there. :)
