I just got off the phone reserving LeConte shelter and Icewater Springs shelter for next month. We will hike up Alum Cave to LeConte on day 1, down the Boulevard to Icewater on day 2, and down the AT to Newfound gap on day 3. This is almost the same hike that I did back in January.
I will be taking my son, my bro in law and his son, hiking shoes from here and his gf will be going and another hiker from my hometown. My bro in law and his son have never hiked before. My son has done some and I have 6 days of hiking planned for him and I before this trip even comes up, so he will be somewhat accustomed to it, sorta.....
I figure the first day will be the hardest so we will get a early start and let the kids lead the way. I can't wait to get back out there. It was completely beautiful last time I was there and can't wait to get back out.
