My wife and kids (age 12 and 8) and I will be hiking in the Jefferson national forest in Virginia, near Damascus in 2nd week of June. It's their first backpacking trip, 4 days, 3 nights. We intend to go about 5 miles per day, and plan to take the route as laid out by "mid-atlantic hikes: JNF - Mount Rogers Backpack (20.8 miles)" wWe
I want to make sure this hike has plenty of water sources for what we intend to do, and am hoping you may have some advice so I don't take them on a bad trip for their first impression of back country hiking.
I would be thankful for any advice you could give!
