Once my friend gets back from India and stops making me totally jealous, we're going to do a week/2-week section close to home (Boone, NC). We were thinking about starting at Fontana or Damascus, but it's really open. Our free ride just said he would take us "somewhere relatively close, in NC, VA, or maybe TN." What is the best hike I can get out of this situation?
