This should be a wonderful event.

Any Whiteblazers out there planning or hoping to attend?

I would, however I'll be in Wellsboro, PA at the time for their annual Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally race. (http://www.stpr.org/) (http://www.stpr.org/)

I am missing it by one week. I have a section hike starting June 10 that will start at PenMar, so I expect to visit the museum just one week after the opening.

The article I read said that Grandma Gatewood was expected to attend. It'd be cool to see her :)

Even though the Subaru Splash (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRiZENNOAEU) is no more you can still hike it (http://www.hike-mst.org/Maps/Black_287-11-04-06.pdf) if you like...

yea, I might just be up to doing that. Maybe I'll go and get a camp site at the park if it is opened. I'll decide for sure as we get closer to the date.

It looks like a camp site cost:
$15/ night for a resident
$17/ night non-resident
max 2 tents per site

$4/ night if you backpack in
$5/ backpack non-resident

I'm unlikely, but others including our club president will be attending.

I am sure Jack that you will be happy that I correct you in that the event will not be probably a great event but that it will be a great event. It is Larry's dream finally coming to realization. It will, to my understanding ,come down to the wire that everything will be ready, but I am confident that Larry is on top of it.
If you cannot be there, you will have wished that you could!

P.S. Special camping rates available for the event. Register for that when you arrive!

register with a AT Museum member and that may result in a better rate! Either way it is worth it!

:banana A. T. MUSEUM GRAND OPENING SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Thought I'da post this recent news release here in this thread also ( besides in the A.T. Museum Up-dates Forum ), since it is of interest to all who will be attending the opening of our Museum !

ALSO, since there is still time (deadline = Dec.31, 2010) for NEW donors and DONOR LEVEL UP-GRADES for the Grand Opening Donors Fund plaque ( which will hang in the A.T. Museum ), I've included the attachment of the donor application form !

SEE YAH THERE ! ~~ HAPPY TRAILS !
