I almost bought a pair of them from Sierra trading Post, however, I went with the Asolo FSN 95's instead. We'll see if I made a good decision the week after next on the AT for 6 days. I found the reviews to be about equal for both, but the FSN 95's seemed to have a softer sole which people really seemed to like. For $99 I wouldn't care if they only last a 1 year of hiking, I will probably try the Fugitives next though.

I have worn a lot of different boots over many miles. The Asolo Fugitive GTX are bar-none the best and most comfortable I have worn. My current ones have over 600 miles of the A.T. on them and probably another 200 miles of other trails.

I carry a 50lb pack and am prone to blisters. With every other pair of boots I have gotten blisters. With the Asolo Fugitive's I have not gotten blister number one.

The only down side of any gortex footwear is that after a week or so on the trail, they do not smell very good.

I just took everyone's word on this and bought a pair. At $145, I like the price!

I've worn Asolo's for over 15 years now - won't even consider another brand, BUT - the last pair I bought I should have purchased a half-size larger (I've developed a bunion on my left foot). So, I've got them listed in the "For Sale". I paid over $200 from REI (some of you have gotten insane deals!!!). I'd like $170 for them, they probably have about 30 miles on them. They fit fine with a thin sock, but if I put on anything bulkier the left foot is not happy.

I'm going to buy the 8's anyway, but I'd like to sell the 7.5's if possible. They are a great boot!
