I’m looking to do a 3 day back packing trip in the area of Northern Ohio, Indiana or Southern Michigan. Can anyone suggest a good trail?

Hocking Hills is nice in South west Ohio, and the North Country trail in Michigan is nice too.

If you're referring to the region comprising northern IN, northern OH, and southeastern MI, then you're not going to find too much. I hiked the 36-mile Waterloo-Pinckney Trail (http://www.waterloopinckneytrail.org/) back in late October 1999, but I probably wouldn't recommend it in the summer months due to the bugs and heat. It's located about 30 minutes west and a bit north of Ann Arbor.

How far south are you willing to come? The Tecumseh Trail, and Knobstone Trail are both good hikes, but more in southern Indiana. Northern Terminus of the Tecumseh Trail is about 45 minutes south of Indianapolis.

Farther north in Michigan is also good. The Manistee River Trail/NCT loop is a great hike!

Agreed, the Manistee River loop is spectacular. Have hiked this several times and recommend it to any one. Also recommend bug spray :)

If you're willing to drive a bit, the Shawnee trail near Portsmouth, Oh, might fit your needs. Here's a list of some Ohio trails.

Tecumseh Trail is a good 3 day hike, I hiked it last year and enjoyed it.
