Trail life of Summer Sausage when its hot

I bought a package of Garlic Summer Sausage to take on a long weekend (Fri-Sun) hike in a couple weeks .
It's likely to be hot weather like we're already having and I want to know if I need to chill it first before packing it and what its life expectancy is in 85 degree heat.:sun

Easily last a week in hot summer temps. The package might be a little greasy as the fat warms up, but I never had a problemn with summer sausages and such. Pack it deep in your pack and it should stay somewhat cool during the day.

It should last a week, as I've had summer sausage last a week in hot temps before. Like someone else mentioned, it's goin to get greasy sloppy but should still be good.
