North Face Apex Pants

Came across a pair of North Face Apex pants at the local Goodwill for $3.50. They are in almost unused condition. I was wondering if anyone has any info on them or has used them before. They are not the Big Wall or Randonee, as far as I can tell. They have the zipper leg, but no snap at the ankle. They seem a bit heavy, but last Feb/Mar when the temps dropped here in FL, they worked pretty well with a light pair of thermal pants.
