I am backpacking with some friends from Woody Gap to Neels Gap. Some of them want to day hike and get off the AT at Henry Gap. I believe there is a side trail that leads to a pull off area. Is my information correct? Thanks for the help!

Happy Hollow Circle is a few hundred feet north of the trail. There are about two dozen houses around the circle. If nobody from the area responds to your post, you could contact the church across the road - Mount Zion Church - Suches, Georgia (706) 747-1417‎ - about parking options. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=34.7158961,-83.9802832&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=29.634084,79.013672&ie=UTF8&ll=34.718652,-83.980823&spn=0.014992,0.038581&t=p&z=15

thanks for the reply, do you know if the side trail is marked from the AT?

Sorry, but no. If you select the satellite view, the side trail probably turns off in the clearing. If you have a topo map, it will be right after Baker Mountain. You probably have all this - Henry Gap: Mile 24.0 - 3.5 from Woods Hole Shelter - Elevation 3,087 - Lat. 34° 42.9559', Long -83° 58.8142'

Why not just take the old FS rd at Jarrad Gap (easy downhill) to Lake Winifield SP. No way you can miss it.

There is no marking at the side path at Henry Gap. Also, you will be crossing private property in getting to Happy Hollow Road. Happy Hollow road is a single lane road with no place to park. You would have to park somewhere on SR 180 (Wolfpen Gap Rd)

Thanks everyone for the info, we will change our exit point. I didn't realize we would have to cross private property.
