Need Advice! Snicker's Gap to Front Royal!

Hi all, I am looking to do a shotgun trip from Snicker's Gap to Front Royal, starting this Friday afternoon and ending this Sunday. I am hoping to park and shuttle from Front Royal to Snicker's and then hike on down. It is about 35 miles or so. I have never hiked there before and was wondering

a) how easy/difficult is the trail?
b) how much water is available?

I will be tent camping the whole trip, for what it is worth.

...Also, to add to the original post, I plan on hiking about 4-5 miles on Friday, and then 15-20 on Saturday with the remaining on Sunday. As long as there is a reasonable number of spings or water around I will be fine. I can carry up to 3.5 liters if needed, and considering how hot it will be, that may be necessary. Anyways, any advice?

Daughter and I did the SNP about three years ago, over July 4th week, with no problems.

But query,-- since the AT does not go to Front Royal, how do you intend to hike to Front Royal? Follow the Skyline Drive for the last few miles? Or hike the AT to a road crossing and hitch hike into town?
