Looking for suggested sites between Rockfish Gap and Damascus.
Doing do packing this summer and prepping to hike from SNP to Damascus for trail days next year.

There are so many good places to pitch a tent between those 2 places I wouldn't know where to begin. In fact, I don't think a day will go by without running across a great place to tent towards the end of the day.
If you follow the Curry Creek trail about 100 yards from where it intersects with the A.T. (about 2.5 miles south of Wilson Creek shelter), there's a nice campsite. I did a lovely zero day there a few weeks ago in the middle of a seven-day section hike. The creek itself, especially near the A.T. junction had very fresh water (I still filtered it, of course). A few widowmakers across the trail and, since the campsite is itself at the bottom of a fairly steep rise, I had a few nervous moments that night as I heard something up the hill crash down... the site itself, though, seems pretty safe.

You'll have no trouble finding camping spots.
Check out Hog Camp Gap near Mt. Pleasant. Also Brown Mountain Valley south of U.S. 60.
