Even though this tent may be lighter, it is only 3 season and costs basically the same:http://www.moontrail.com/terra-nova-laser-photon-usa.php I don't think it is as good as the quality of the Hilleberg Akto, which is only slightely heavier, but a 4 season tent:http://www.moontrail.com/tents/hilleberg_akto.php I was wondering, does anybody have or know about the Terra Nova, and what do other's think?:-?

1 LB difference should not be described as "only slightly heavier".

Yes, but for that 1lb difference there are some qualifications. First, the TN lacks the three vents (that can be closed) on the outer fly. It also comes with pegs that are instantly useless that adds to the packed weight of the shelter. The Akto also comes with additional guylines and guyline runner and a repair kit.

If you wander over to www.outdoorsmagic.com and search the forums, you will see discussions comparing these two. I have looked at the TN and have owned the Akto.

I just got return authorization on my Laser 20. Stitching started going after less than 10 miles of hiking with it. The company I bought it from said they are getting a lot of returns on the Terra Nova packs.

I can vouch for the workmanship on the Akto (and the durability, especially in wind). Wet snow can pile up on it, so it's not a good idea to leave it unattended in such conditions. You have to get up and knock the snow off when it gets heavy. On some hikes in winter I still carry my Akto, but my hammock keeps me warm down to at least +10 degrees.
Hilleberg now makes a mosquito mesh inner for the Akto. I posted a link here on Whiteblaze a few months ago.
