For some ignorant reason, I can't link directly to the article, but if you go to http://www.northcountrytrail.org/ and scroll down the list of news items on the right to October 31, you'll see an article about identifying the genome of crypto and its implications for discovering a treatment. This would be a great thing not only for hikers, but for the world at large.
